背景
常夏の国、シンガポールに生まれ育ち20年間が経ち、2008年3月に早稲田大学に入学し、東京に移ってきました。大学生活があと数カ月で終わるのに、今人生の十字路に立ちつくし、将来に向けて次の一歩に迷っています。現在大学の国際交流のサークルに所属していて、色々な国の人と知り合ってお互いの文化や言語を学び合っています。自分がどれだけ「井の中の蛙」だと知らされ、これからももっと世界に羽ばたいてより国際的に貢献できる人になろうと思いました。
｢デニス｣という人間は言語と旅行という二つの言葉でまとまる。言語を勉強することが大好きで、シンガポールでは学校で英語で勉強し、家族とは中国語で、13歳から日本語を習い始めました。国際教養学部には数多くの国の学生が多く、周りの友達の背景に興味を持つようになって、外国人の相手にはその人の母国語で話せればなと思い、外国語を勉強するモチベーションが倍増しました。色々な言語を勉強し、多言語ブログも始めました：www.dennischia.com
そして、つい最近、日テレのネプとイモトの世界番付という番組にシンガポール代表として出演させていただきました。

ever since I watched your youtube video, Ive been a fan of you, Dennis san;)
it seems to me that not only have you picked up a near-native fluency of Japanese, but even the Japanese way of humbleness as well. This level of Japanese would never have been achieved, had you only had studied a language. You must have put your whole being into the interaction with Japanese people and culture. for which I do admire you
one of the reasons I felt compelled to comment on your blog is that some of your interests ( such as travel, language etc) does overlap mine. When I was young, back in my 20s, my passions for life had been pretty much the same as yours; seeing the world with my own eyes and learning local languages I happened to settle in. So, I had been singlemindedly persuing my little dream, traveling the world, studying abroad, studying foreing languages. Looking back on those days, I now have a feeling that although it first seemed a bit too reckless ( as you probably know, the mainstream Japanese society is not very tolerant toward such nomads), it has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. I can not tell you how much it has helped transform the way I look at the world ( to be more precise, Ive learned to somewhat distance myself from my tribe, country and the self, thus enabling me to understand relative views each person/culture posesses, much like Einstein special theory of relativity.
after I studied abroad in Thailand, I had roamed around the world for years with a heavy backpack on the back( like Asia, middle east, europe, africa, and south america), I eventually found myself settling down in China where I spend most of my time living with my family. This is why I have some knowlege of the languages you speak ( thai, spanish, chinese etc), though your overall language proficieny is a whole lot better than me.
and like you did, I also at some point in my life started to write a book, novel, so that I finished it up as an e-book. at first, it seemed a little troublesome in many ways, but turned out that it was not as complicated as I had first expected. This way, you dont have to rely on any publishers, if you are to get it published on your own. Even better, all I needed was around 6 man yen ( Ipad, plus 5 books on how to make e-books). the rest is pretty easy: you could put your work on sites, lets say, the one called Paboo in which the company charges 30 percent of the transaction fees per sale and basic functions are free.
Or you could just post your work on blog or elsewhere, which I think would be the best way to sell your book in terms of profitability.
anyhow, although you may think that it is none of your business, I might be able to help you , should you be inclined to make your own e-book. dont worry, I have no slightest intentions of charging you;) I just genuinely wanted to be of some help for you, since where you are kind of reminded me of when I was in trouble.
last but not least, please dont get me wrong. I am not imposing upon you my little proposals. it is entirely up to you;)

Thank you so much for the comment. I’m flattered.
You are right; I have really committed a huge part of my life to learning Japanese, not just the language but also the culture, even before I came to Japan.
It seems that we both have very similar hobbies and interests: language learning and traveling.
I would really be happy if you could help me get my books sold, be it in paperback form, or online.
I am trying to explore more about Japan, so that if I get a second chance to write a book, it would be full of more concrete and interesting contents, than the mere amateurish description and tourist-like comments I have now.
I admire and envy you at the same time, at your traveling experiences around the world.
It is indeed one of my dreams to travel around the world. I want to meet people from all over the world, to learn their languages and culture.
I do not have enough money and time to do that now, but I am sure I will be on my way around the world one day.
So, where do you stay in China now? You must be really fluent in Chinese then!
To be honest, even though I have studied many languages, I do not speak many of them very fluently. I am just glad to be able to communicate in simple terms with foreigners in their mother tongues.

Im glad to help you out if you need my little help;) while Ive never had any experiences of publishing in a paper book, I may be able to give you some advice on e-books.

I live in Chongqing, china. ah, sadly my chinese is at best intermediate,,, so, far from being fluent.
Im sure that youve had good groundings in many languages you speak. so, if you put yourself in a proper place where you have a chance to practice speaking these languages, you would surely pick them up in no time.
